Introducing 123 ToDo: Privacy-First Task Management

We built a free, privacy-first task manager that works offline and never tracks you. Here is why.

We built a free, privacy-first task manager that works offline and never tracks you. Here is why.

Welcome to 123 ToDo

Today, we’re excited to launch 123 ToDo - a free, privacy-first task management app that puts you back in control of your productivity and your data.

The Problem We’re Solving

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by modern productivity tools, you’re not alone. Today’s task managers often:

  • Require creating accounts with your email and personal information
  • Track everything you do for analytics and advertising
  • Lock features behind paywalls with confusing “freemium” models
  • Require internet to function, leaving you stranded offline
  • Store your data in the cloud where you can’t control it
  • Complicate simple tasks with endless features and settings

We believe task management shouldn’t be this complicated - or invasive.

Our Solution: Simple, Private, Free

123 ToDo takes a radically different approach:

= Privacy-First by Design

All your tasks are stored locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers. We use zero tracking, zero cookies, and zero analytics. We literally cannot see your tasks or how you use the app.

This isn’t just a privacy feature - it’s our core architecture. Your data never leaves your device.

= Works Offline, Anywhere

Since everything runs locally, 123 ToDo works perfectly offline. Install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on your phone or desktop, and use it anywhere - on a plane, in the subway, or in the middle of nowhere.

Internet connection optional.

< Priority-Based Organization

Stay focused with our 4-level priority system:

  • Must Do - Critical tasks for today (red)
  • Should Do - Important upcoming tasks (orange)
  • Could Do - Nice-to-have tasks (gray)
  • On Hold - Waiting or paused tasks (purple)

This simple system helps you focus on what actually matters instead of drowning in an endless list.

< Motivation Built-In

Completing tasks feels good. We make it feel even better with achievement milestones at 5, 10, and 15 completed tasks per day. Small celebrations keep you motivated without being annoying.

= Your Data, Your Control

Export your tasks to JSON anytime. Import on another device. Keep backups wherever you want. You own your data - not us.

< Actually Free

No “freemium” tricks. No subscription upsells. No artificial limits. Every feature we build is available to everyone, forever.

If we thought you needed to pay for it, we wouldn’t have built it this way.

How It Works

Getting started takes less than 60 seconds:

  1. Visit app.123todo.com - No signup required
  2. Add your first task - Click “Add Task” and type it in
  3. Set a priority - Choose from Must Do, Should Do, Could Do, or On Hold
  4. Start getting things done - Check off tasks as you complete them

That’s it. No tutorials needed, no onboarding screens, no overwhelming options.

Built for Everyone

123 ToDo works great for:

  • Students managing assignments and projects
  • Professionals juggling multiple priorities
  • Freelancers tracking client work
  • Parents organizing family tasks
  • Anyone who wants a simple, private way to manage their to-do list

Whether you’re managing 5 tasks or 500, the interface stays clean and focused.

Technical Details (For the Curious)

For those interested in how we built this:

  • Frontend: React 19 for smooth, modern UI
  • Storage: Browser localStorage API (5-10MB typically available)
  • Offline: Service workers for PWA functionality
  • Privacy: No servers, no database, no backend
  • Hosting: Static files only - we serve HTML/CSS/JS and nothing more

You can inspect the code and verify our privacy claims yourself. We built this with transparency in mind.

What’s Next

We’re starting simple, but we have ideas for future enhancements:

  • Dark mode customization options
  • Keyboard shortcuts for power users
  • More export formats (CSV, plain text)
  • Recurring tasks
  • Task notes and attachments (stored locally, of course)

But we’re committed to keeping 123 ToDo simple. We’ll only add features that make sense and don’t complicate the core experience.

A Note on Sustainability

You might be wondering: “How can this be free forever?”

Fair question. Here’s our thinking:

123 ToDo costs almost nothing to operate. We serve static files - no databases, no servers processing data, no infrastructure scaling with users. Hosting costs are minimal.

We built this because we needed it ourselves and wanted to share it. We’re not trying to build a billion-dollar startup. We’re building a tool we use daily and hope others will find valuable.

If 123 ToDo helps you stay organized and productive, the best way to support us is to:

  • Share it with others who value privacy
  • Provide feedback on what works (or doesn’t)
  • Report bugs so we can fix them
  • Spread the word about privacy-first software

Questions?

Q: Is this really completely free? A: Yes. Every feature, forever. No tricks.

Q: Can I sync between devices? A: Not automatically - that would require cloud servers and compromise privacy. But you can manually sync by exporting on one device and importing on another.

Q: What if I lose my data? A: Use the Export feature regularly to backup. We recommend weekly exports. Since data is local-only, we cannot recover it if lost.

Q: Do you plan to monetize this later? A: We have no plans to add subscriptions, ads, or premium tiers. 123 ToDo will remain free as long as we can afford to host it (which, given the minimal costs, is indefinitely).

Q: How can I trust this is private? A: Technical users can inspect the code. Non-technical users can use browser developer tools to verify no network requests are made when using the app (except loading the initial files).

Welcome to 123 ToDo. We hope it helps you get more done with less stress.
